Another aspect of the WVAA's art-related educational programs are the yearly trips planned to such places as the Art Institute of Chicago and the Barnsite Art Studio and Gallery of Kewaunee.
Members are encouraged to email their ideas and suggestions for the annual bus trip.

Events
At the May Annual Spring Banquet we present the Artist of the Year Award to a member. We recognize those members who have served as officers in the previous year, current committees and those attaining 25 or more years of service in the WVAA.
Art in the Park in September, the weekend after Labor Day, is part of "Artrageous" Weekend in Wausau. We have 110 exhibitors and this is our major fundraiser. Approximately 30,000 people attend this event.
The Festival of Trees is held the week of Thanksgiving. This is an area event to benefit our local Hospice Program. We decorate a tree with handmade ornaments, etc., to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Nominations for next year's officers take place in October. Election of officers takes place in November with the Christmas Party being held in December.
